An aquatint is a type of art print. Aquatints are printed from an image etched onto a metal plate with acid and tools. It's called "aquatint" as the prints often resemble watercolor paintings. Aquatints are quite difficult to make. This means they are rarer than prints made by engraving or lithography.
This interesting work will enhance any modern or contemporary setting.

Johnny Friedlaender (1912–1992) was a German-French printmaker best known for pioneering the use of aquatint etching. Born in Pless (now Pszczyna, Poland), he studied lithography and etching under Expressionist painter Otto Mueller at the Academy of Arts in Breslau, graduating as a master student in 1928. He fled Nazi Germany for Paris in 1937, where he spent most of his adult life.
His early black-and-white aquatints drew on Surrealism and Expressionism; his later work moved toward lyrical abstraction. A retrospective was held at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris in 1978.

Photograph the packaging and the piece before unpacking further, and contact us within 48 hours. We handle all freight claims directly and will arrange a resolution.
Returns
