The Atelier

Trained at the École Boulle, Paris

Patrick Salaun buys across France, England and Italy, and works a substantial part of the inventory at his own bench in Miami. Vivian Salaun runs the house in the United States — cataloguing, condition, clients.

How a piece reaches you

Four steps, and a written record of each

  1. Sourced

Patrick buys in person — estate sales, regional dealers, the trade fairs he has worked for decades.

  2. Assessed

The piece is measured, dated and examined: what is original, what has been replaced, what needs work.

  3. Restored

Where the work is done at our bench, it is conservative — stabilise, re-set, dress by hand. Nothing over-restored.

  4. Documented

A condition report is written for every piece: dimensions, materials, what is original and what has been replaced.

Before and after

Before · as acquired
Liquid error (sections/ea-atelier line 114): Unknown SVG placeholder 'detailed-apparel-2'
After · at the bench
