The piece

A charming and highly decorative pair of antique nautical cast iron bookends depicting full-rigged sailing ships navigating stylised ocean waves.

The pieces feature dimensional relief work with traces of original hand-applied polychrome paint in cream, blue and dark brown. Crafted in heavy cast iron with a naturally weathered surface texture, they capture early seafaring vessel aesthetics and suit coastal or nautical interiors. Sold as a set of two.
