This fine piece of artwork is pencil signed and numbered #67/350.

Charles Cerny (1892-1965) was a Czech painter who specialized in still life paintings. His favorite theme was maritime, but he also painted musical and scientific objects. He studied in Prague, Munich, Vienna and Paris and exhibited his works at the Société des Artistes Indépendants in Paris since 1910.

He later moved to France and worked in Lagny/Seine-et Marne.
