About the Artist:
Edna Hibel (1917-2015) A celebrated and highly regarded American artist, Edna Hibel is known for her evocative depictions of the mother and child. With strong connections to both Florida and Massachusetts, her work has become iconic, and her legacy is honored at the Hibel Museum in Florida. Often referred to as the “latter-day Cassatt” for her focus on nurturing motherhood, Hibel’s artwork captures the timeless bond between mother and child, reflecting peace, innocence, and warmth.

Edna Hibel was born Edna Hibel Plotkin on January 13, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. She studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts from 1935 to 1939, and at 23 became one of the youngest artists to have work acquired by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
She began lithography in Boston in 1966 and continued the practice in Zurich from 1970, producing lithographs on paper, silk, wood veneer, and porcelain. She founded the Edna Hibel Museum of Fine Art in Jupiter, Florida, in 1977.

Photograph the packaging and the piece before unpacking further, and contact us within 48 hours. We handle all freight claims directly and will arrange a resolution.
