An important and stunning seven-piece French Art Deco dining ensemble, comprising a sculptural wrought-iron table with marble top and six matching chairs, attributed to Edgar Brandt.
The ironwork is animated by flowing vine motifs, curling tendrils and finely modelled grape clusters. The table carries an Italian Portoro marble top, its deep black ground animated with luminous gold veining. The seller notes the ensemble is believed to have been commissioned for or acquired by the residence of the United States Ambassador to Cuba.

Notes on this piece
- On the attribution. Words such as “style of”, “manner of”, “attributed to”, “after” or “circle of”, and period-style labels such as “Louis XV style”, describe our informed opinion based on form, construction and materials. They are not a certification of authorship, and not a guarantee of investment value. Where authorship is documented, we say so plainly and name the evidence.
