This work is titled "La Source Echevelee de la Vie" and is described by the artist on an inclusive French language printed explanation translated as:
The world that liberates the frenzied source of life, the origin of the genie of power, of the grace of happiness, by binding to the infinite creator and creates fragile Love, but oh how precious, that this fetal bond, which draws from the creation of an egg in its virginal shell, the necessary nourishing has the hatching of the eggs flesh. This liquor of life, this life, which whispers its birth in the very hollow of the fragrant mouth of this new ecstasy, under the striking gaze of gercures, already fossilizes in death.

Henri Matisse was born December 31, 1869, in Le Cateau-Cambrésis, in the Picardy region of France, and died November 3, 1954, in Nice. He originally trained and worked as a law clerk before taking up painting during a convalescence, after which he abandoned law to study art in Paris.
Around 1900–1905, Matisse became the leading figure of Fauvism, a movement named for the group's use of intense, non-naturalistic color. He continued to work across painting, sculpture, printmaking, and later paper cut-outs for the rest of his career.

Freight transit is typically 7–14 business days; we contact you to arrange a delivery window. Smaller pieces travel insured by ground courier.

Packing
Packed by hand. Fragile items are double-boxed with custom foam inserts. Glass and detachable elements are removed, packed separately and reassembled on arrival.
If something arrives damaged
Photograph the packaging and the piece before unpacking further, and contact us within 48 hours. We handle all freight claims directly and will arrange a resolution.
Returns
