An evocative 18th century Italian architectural engraving depicting romanticised classical ruins and monumental masonry structures within the famed gardens of Monte Cavallo, Rome.
Fine linear engraving describes ruined architectural forms, arched passageways and lush foliage animated by small figures. The inscription credits the designer Bernardo Gamucci and references the Giardino Colonnese al Monte Cavallo. The print is presented in a giltwood frame with a distressed patina, well suited to traditional or transitional interiors.
