After moving to Paris, he then discovered Switzerland in the mid-1950s, settled first in Lausanne, then in Leysin, before setting up his easel in Freiburg.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFrom 1956, Ferruccio Garopesani was active in Switzerland creating works of art including paintings, graphics, mosaics, scenographic illustrations, stained glass windows and frescoes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGaro, as everyone in Freiborg called him used to paint in the streets of the city. Garo quickly became a “character known and loved by all, as described by Stefan Ledergerber, director of the Gutenberg Museum in Freiburg. He first painted oil, in the street.
