Prziembel, was a native of Pitschen in Silesia, was made a master laborer-cabinetmaker in 1766, and three years later married in the chapel of the Swedish Embassy with the daughter of a watchmaker. They settled in rue des Canettes, near the Place Saint-Sulpice. Prziembel, known in the trade by his first name of Godefroy, specially produced mahogany tables.
